1) What is SBTV? Research the channel and explain how it became successful.

Identify the target audience for this interview (demographics/psychographics) and say why.

SBTV is a multi-faceted company founded by Jamal Edwards and run by a small team of young people who work on web-based content. It as become successful in the way that it allows young people to get involved and its main platform is urban music and videos.



2) What is the audience appeal for an interview like this? How does the opening of the clip emphasise this appeal?


It appeals to the audience as it gives exclusive insight on the work that was happening to create Ill Manors including the footage of the start which is also reinforced when the interviewer/actors states that they 'aren't suppose to be there'. Additionally, it would appeal to a younger audience from how the interviewer is dressed and hoe they speak.


3) How is Plan B (the brand) represented in this text?


In this interview, as an audience, we get to see Plan B (Ben Drew) in action as a hard working director. He reinforces this when he says that he has been there for days trying to get Ill Manors to the standards he wants. He is also presented in personal and informal way which makes the audience think of him as a normal person and not see him as superior.

1) What is SOHK.TV? 

It is a youtube channel in which is uses as a platform for urban music, videos and inteview with new film releases which is targeted towards young people.

2) Why is Ill Manors a good fit to promote on SOHK.TV?

This is because both share a similar type of representation that may appeal to a younger audience. Additionally, the genre of Ill Manors helps as this channel is targeted towards young teenager who are perhaps going through some of the issues that are presented in the film.


3) What kind of audience would subscribe to SOHK.TV? Is it a different audience to the main target audience for Ill Manors? Why might this benefit Ben Drew and the institutions behind Ill Manors?

The majority of those who would subscribe to a channel such as this on is most likely going to be teenagers who are interested in this genre of even film in general.


Jonathan Ross Show




1) What is the history of the Jonathan Ross show? What channels has it appeared on? Why has Jonathan Ross been a controversial media figure in the past?


The Jonathan Ross Show is a British talk show with the host Johnathan Ross where public figures including singers and actors talk about their recent affairs which is broadcast ed on ITV. The Jonathan Ross is both form of comedy and entertainment. Jonathan Ross himself has been a controversial media figure in the past due to the fact that he was suspended from all BBC shows for 3 months back in 2008, where he was a guest on Russel Brands BBC radio 2 show,because of his and Brands actions in messages left on actor Andrew Sachs phone. Nevertheless,Jonathan apologised for his mistake and returned to radio 2 a year after, before leaving in 2010

This talk show in particular,would be targeted toward a wide audience perhaps more so working class due to how Ross presents himself and the ways he expresses himself is more entertainment.


3) What is the audience appeal for a programme like the Jonathan Ross show?


The audience appeal for this kind of shown would mainly be due to the fact that the guests are usually big stars in the business with recent work they are promoting. Therefore, fans of the guests may watch to know more about a film and the characters that are played.

4) How is Plan B (the brand) represented in this text?


Plan B is presented to be knowledgeable and understanding toward the way youths think and expresses the way he feel the media is manipulative. This reinforces his rand which is all amount not conforming to authority but also taking action on what they believe in.

1) How popular is BBC Radio 1? Find average listening figures for the station. How has the BBC Radio 1 audience declined over recent years? Why might this have happened?

BBC Radio 1 has had listening figures of 10.44 million in 2015. However, the figures have decreased as a result of the rise on social media for example snapchat and Instagram which a younger audience would be appealed to and spend more time interacting.This would mean less listeners as younger people have other devices such as TV to watch and listen rather than radios. 

2) Who is the target audience for BBC Radio 1?


BBC radio 1's audience would mainly be targeted toward an adult audience however, some teenagers do listen to the radio when a subject they are interested are spoken about.

3) How does Plan B promote Ill Manors in this interview?


Plan B promotes Ill Manors in this interview through his soundtrack that he released during the same period the film was releases. Additionally, he talks about how the audience would appeal to this film and how the activities and themes portrayed in the film refelect real social issues.

4) What representation of Plan B can we find in this interview?

During this interview, Plan B is represented as someone who cares about the lives of teenagers and the society that we live in today. Similarly, he talks about how he wants to subvert the stereotype of urban,hip-hop music and the meaning behind it.
